Today I'm feeling super motivated.
はいYes
Hello everyone.
I said I'm feeling super motivated, but
well, why I got motivated is, well, actually, actually today I wasn't motivated at all.
Well, probably because I went to an izakaya yesterday and drank with Tomoya, well, because of him, well, I invited him though,
あのまあやっぱりまあたくさん飲まないとしてもちょっとこうやっぱり唐揚げとかね、well, even if you don't drink a lot, still, like, fried chicken and such,
あの焼き鳥とかね、yakitori and such,
eating that kind of heavy food while drinking alcohol.
And it got pretty late at night, so, well, and also, like, yesterday
まあ天気悪かったんですよめっちゃめっちゃで天気が悪いとwell, the weather was bad, really really bad, and when the weather's bad
I had no motivation during the daytime
Lately I've been making all kinds of excuses saying I have no motivation, no motivation, but
まあやる気がなかったのでまあ今日の夜は智也に会うしなと思ってねwell, I had no motivation, so I thought, well, I'm meeting Tomoya tonight anyway
まあなんかだらだらしてたんですよ昼の間はwell, I was just kind of lazing around during the day
And sure enough, well, I met Tomoya
well, I keep saying Tomoya Tomoya, but for those who don't know, I'll say it again, he's my junior from university, well, a friend one year younger than me.
Well, he's a friend.
A Japanese friend, I really have almost no Japanese friends, so, well, he's pretty much the only one, the only one.
He's a friend I see regularly.
Well, he'll be moving away next spring, well, moving, or rather going back home.
He's been in Tokyo for about two years now, two or three years, for work.
And that's ending, so, well, same company, well not a company, but he's a public servant.
He works for the country, so, well, he was in Tokyo but he's going back.
And until then, since it's a short time, well, we meet about once a month and go to an izakaya and talk.
And yesterday too, well, we had a fun chat, it was good, but, well, during the day
雨が降ってて、まあ夜も降ってたけど、こうずっとこうダラダラとこうなんかこうエネルギーをこうit was raining, well, it was raining at night too, and I'd just been lazing around like that without using any energy
使わずにダラダラしてたら、without using energy, just lazing around, then
居酒屋で飲み始めていろんな話をするとだんだんねwhen I started drinking at the izakaya and talking about all sorts of things, gradually
that saved-up energy came out.
In other words, I started feeling energetic.
And I got too energetic, so when I got home I was still kind of, how should I put it, in an excited state,
well, I wasn't sleepy at all.
Not sleepy at all.
And I felt like drinking some tea and ended up drinking green tea and stuff.
Well, it's a lot of things.
Various things.
Since I lazed around all day yesterday, then suddenly talked a lot and drank a lot at night and got all worked up, remembering all sorts of things.
And since I even drank green tea, I really couldn't fall asleep when I went to bed.
I was probably awake until about 2 at the earliest,
awake, well, my eyes were closed, but I got into bed around 1.
And around 2 I still felt like I wasn't asleep, so I finally fell asleep after 2.
And 3, 4, 5, 6, well, I woke up a bit around 6,
まあそれでも7時近くまで寝たけど、まあまあうん、5時間6時間、but still I slept until close to 7, but well, 5 hours, 6 hours,
I probably didn't even sleep 6 hours.
So I was kind of tired today.
And I only had a few lessons.
Really just like one.
I did talk with Kimi-chan, but, like, lately, well
Well, you know, like, how should I put it, well,
I am busy, if you say busy, I am busy.
The reason is, well, I'm just normally doing laundry and cleaning and stuff, but anyway, anyway.
Somehow I had no energy, I had no energy.
And then, you know, I've gotten super energized.
Why is that, well, well, well,
Recently, you know, probably,
Maybe because I said it here, or I said it on the Beginner Podcast too, well, I said everyone please help me, donation please,
maybe, but since then, just at this timing, well, it's autumn now, so lots of people.
Somehow, somehow, you know, I don't know.
Well, I think there are various reasons.
Anyway, they support me, they support Nihongo Conte Teppei.
And, there were a few rather large donations.
And so I was like, alright!
I got motivated.
After all, money is like, well, like a bonus, right?
It's that thing called a reward.
It's that compensation, right?
After all, I'm living in this world too, so I'm happy.
Well, here I sometimes ideally say things like
I want a world where everyone is happy even without money, but at this present moment.
Well, we're not elementary school kids, and we're not inside an elementary school, right?
We're in what's called the normal world.
We're right here in this normal place.
And here, everything you do costs money.
Just continuing to exist normally every day.
Well, well, you can exist without money, though.
Even if you become homeless you can exist.
But, well, if I don't pay rent, well, I'm renting a house, so if I don't pay rent I can't keep this house, and,
Well, for example, I recently bought shoes for my kid.
Because kids' feet just keep getting bigger.
Well, they can't wear the same size for more than half a year, right?
After a year, well, it's already impossible, right?
So buying things like that, and
Well, of course yesterday was with Tomoya, once a month, the once-a-month izakaya,
But it's a cheap izakaya, well, but anyway,
Well, I don't really need to go out of my way to say it, but
What I'm saying is, I'm happy, after all money, money makes me happy,
It gives me motivation, so things like that, after all,
I have to think about that, you know,
I have to think about that, you know,
I have to think about it, because I'm living in this world,
And to get back to the topic, I keep getting back to the topic lately, but to get back to the topic,
So after all, having few lessons is also one reason for having no energy, few lessons,
Then there's no money, then I get anxious,
ね。right?
And there, well, these kinds of donations, I'm really grateful for them.
Well, maybe I shouldn't use the word donation, shall I make it contributions, well, contrib, well, reward is fine, it's a reward, it's a reward, it's a bonus.
I'm really happy, about the bonus.
Bonuses make me happy, after all, somehow,
Being thanked, being acknowledged, being needed,
喜んでもらえてる、応援してもらえてる、そういうすべてがそこにmaking people happy, being cheered on — all of that is
included in it.
And furthermore, using that, like today, what should I make for dinner, well I'm not that desperate, I'm not that desperate but still it gives you some breathing room.
Should I buy fish or should I buy meat.
You know, I think, supermarkets are expensive these days, right.
When you go to the supermarket, what do you think, everyone.
You wander around, right.
I really always wander around, going back and forth.
Somehow like this,
なんかこう肉売り場、肉のコーナーに行って、いやlike, going to the meat section, the meat corner, and thinking, no,
たけえなと思って、ちょっと取って、置いて、うん、やっぱりthis is expensive, picking it up, putting it back, yeah,
let's not.
Sadly swallowing my drool, and then going over to the fish section, and no, fish is expensive too.
Then after that going to like the natto and tofu section, ah, these are always cheap.
No no, seriously, this is half a joke, but half true.
Half a joke.
I do eat meat sometimes, and fish too.
But half true, I do hold back sometimes, because it's impossible.
I just think, I can't pay this kind of price.
And actually today, yeah, one more reason I felt down — today I was thinking of having curry rice for dinner.
Well, when money runs out, curry rice increases, right. And
well, I had frozen the curry rice I made last week.
I took that out of the freezer.
Then, well, this happens sometimes, right.
That glass
well, the glass container, like a container, had cracked.
Probably from hot and cold, that kind of temperature change.
It cracked.
Well, until now it had been totally fine.
I'd been putting curry or stew in it and putting it in the freezer.
In that same container.
But well, for various reasons, I guess.
Maybe it was a bit old.
I don't know, but.
Anyway, it cracked.
So what would you do, everyone.
If it's, well, glass, right.
The frozen curry rice, the frozen curry, in the cracked glass.
The frozen curry is in there.
Well, you could eat it.
But still it's a bit scary, right.
If there were glass shards in it, that would be really dangerous.
And at first I thought, no, I can't feed this to the kids, so I'll eat it.
It's quite a lot, you know.
It's a big curry, so I thought I'd eat it, but
でもやっぱり食べた後になんかbut still, after eating it, like
胃に穴が開くとかお腹なんかお尻のお尻じゃないけどなんかその腸が切れるとかまあいろいろ考えたら怖いじゃないですかgetting a hole in my stomach or cutting my intestines or something, when I thought about all that it was scary, you know
もし飲み込んでたらどうしようとかそんな価値はあるかとwhat if I swallowed some, is it worth it, and
I thought about it a lot and threw it away.
Well, that's normal, right? I think everyone would probably do that because it's scary, and the glass is, well, um,
その燃えないゴミでカレーはまあ燃えるゴミっていうかまあ生ゴミに入れてput that in non-burnable trash, and the curry is, well, burnable trash, or rather, well, put it in food waste,
でその後ねやっぱり僕はバカじゃないから考えちゃうand after that, well, I'm not stupid so I start thinking,
あのカレーは肉も入ってるし野菜も入ってて奥さんの方オーガニックの野菜も入ってるからum, that curry has meat and vegetables in it, and my wife's side, it has organic vegetables too, so,
まあ少なくとも五百円ぐらいの価値はあるだろうとwell, it must be worth at least about 500 yen,
And that glass container, well, that also cost more than 500 yen, so well, about 1,000 yen broke,
And today I had few lessons too.
And, am I going to be okay?
And my kid's shoes arrived from Amazon, so today I'm in the red.
Do you know what in the red means.
Spending more money than you earned is called being in the red.
Today I'm in the red, this is bad.
Like, phew.
I went to an izakaya yesterday too.
While I was thinking about that, half joking, half serious, I got some donations, like, yes!
You know.
ね。Well, that's how it is.
It's all about timing.
I'm really happy.
Um, thank you very much.
Thank you to those people.
Thank you so much.
And well, everyone, well, no pressure at all, but if you get a chance, please help out.
But well, how should I put it, well, sometimes I really have to say it properly.
Um, you know, when I need help, I have to say so properly.
That's something I learned.
If I don't say anything, no one will notice anything.
When I want help, I say, please help me.
And also, well, about students, I'm recruiting a little, I have one trial lesson this week, but,
I'm gradually recruiting new students.
Well, via Patreon. Patreon.
Please contact me there.
I often don't notice other ways of contacting me.
I don't really check them much.
But on Patreon I get the messages, so that's the best.
Please, please contact me.
Well, just a few people.
If the timing is off by a bit, I'll end up having to say sorry again, so please contact me early.
Like, for example, someone hears this but,
なんかあの例えばねこれを聞いてだけどmonths later says, teacher, are you still recruiting, and at that time just,
何ヶ月もあとにね先生まだ募集してますかって言うとその時はちょうどvarious students come back and it's a timing when I get busy, so,
あのいろんな生徒が戻ってきたりしてね忙しくなるタイミングでもあるんでand to say more, why I have few lessons now is because my regular students are traveling or coming to Japan,
なんでさらに言えばなんで今少ないかというとあのレギュラーの生徒さんたちがあの旅行に行ってたりまあ日本に来てたりfor various reasons they're not taking lessons, so that's why my weekly,
まあいろいろな理由であのレッスンを取ってないのでそれであの毎週のfixed lessons have become quite few, and my students take like once or twice a week,
固定のレッスンがかなり少なくなってますねで僕の生徒は結構一週間に一回とか二回とかsome people even three or four times, and when those people disappear, suddenly I become free.
When I become free, I get anxious.
Well, that's how it is, right.
Everyone, think about it.
Um, you know,
You know,
Well, people who aren't freelancers probably wouldn't really understand this, but for example,
this month's pay will be half of last month's.
of course, work hours will also be halved.
it still makes you anxious, right.
For example, if this month you're only working twenty hours a week, and then your pay is also halved, how would that feel.
An ordinary person probably couldn't even joke about that.
They'd probably be 100% seriously thinking this is bad.
But I,
あのまあこれも一つのum, well, this is also one,
何かまあそういうフェーズなんだなと思ってまああんまり気にしてないというかむしろポッドキャストを作ったり他のプロジェクトをやったりlike, well, I think it's just that kind of phase, so I'm not really worried about it, or rather I'm making podcasts and doing other projects,
well.
あの子供と一緒になんか本読んだりlike reading books together with my kid,
あの勉強したりなんかそういう時間に当てることも大事かなとまあ前向きにね考えてるしもちろんstudying or spending time on things like that is also important, I'm thinking about it positively, and of course,
まあまあレッスンだけじゃないですからねあのやっぱりポッドキャストの皆さんのあのサポートのおかげでwell, it's not just lessons, you know, thanks to everyone's support for the podcast,
まあ毎月レッスンがなくても大丈夫まあ大丈夫じゃないなwell, even without lessons every month it's fine — well, it's not fine,
大丈夫じゃないけどまあ半分ぐらいは大丈夫という状態なんでまあでもまあいろいろあるんですよやっぱりit's not fine, but about half is covered, so that's the situation, but well, there's a lot going on,
まああの普通に東京で生活してるだけでやっぱり大変ですからねwell, just living normally in Tokyo is tough, you know,
yeah, and well, there's no point talking about my personal situation, saying how tough it is won't help.
So anyway, anyway, thank you very much.
Motivated by money, I ended up chattering on like this.
That is wonderful.
Yes, so see you next time.
Thank you.
