Cut.
Today, about shallow people.
Hello everyone, this is Shikon of Japanese Content Pen.
Today too, let's try hard to complain.
Well, when you say complaint,
I think it has a bad image, but well, here, um, a little
Well, I'd like you to listen for the sake of studying Japanese.
I'm not saying it because I want to say it either.
Well, why I say complaint is because generally people don't want to hear complaints, right.
Because it's said emotionally.
I'm not complaining emotionally.
I'm just calmly, and as a general theory, general theory you know
I'm not talking about my personal experience, I'm talking in general terms, so this is good for studying.
はい。Yes.
Well, complaining is, after all, not good.
So this is not a complaint.
This is not a complaint.
This is a general theory.
It's like, generally people like this are like this, you know, so-called sociology, but it's not just sociology.
Well, the reason is I have no idea about a sociological approach at all, and I lack vocabulary, and I lack knowledge.
Just a Japanese resource talked about by a so-called stupid Japanese teacher, well, as for knowledge, no, I'm not a stupid Japanese teacher.
Just a Japanese resource talked about by a so-called stupid Japanese teacher, well, as for knowledge, no, I'm not a stupid Japanese teacher.
Wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
What do you mean, stupid Japanese teacher.
Don't say such a thing.
That's rude to me, so, well, I want to talk normally.
Well you know.
Um, I drank two cups of coffee today, so I'm energetic, but I feel a little irritated.
I don't know, I don't know the reason.
So I want to talk in a complain-like way.
I'm a little irritated.
I don't know why.
Because the weather is bad, or because I'm tired, but I'm not tired.
I'm not tired.
I'm energetic.
I'm too energetic.
Too too energetic, but the weather is bad so I can't go for a walk.
It's like I'm in the state of a border collie that's been inside the house for two or three days.
What should I do with this energy.
I'm just going round and round in circles in the house chasing my own butt like a border collie, that's how it feels.
Well, that is quite a mental problem, isn't it.
That dog chasing its tail, you know, that seems pretty bad apparently.
When stress is too big.
And I'm in that state now so I'm complaining, but this is just me going round and round chasing my own butt,
Well, I'm not angry at anyone in particular.
Well today I want to talk about shallow people.
Well, when you all meet someone or,
まあ話しているとき、まあ友達の場合は別に浅くてもいいんですけど、僕の友達の友達とかも結構浅いし、when you're talking, well with friends it's fine to be shallow, my friends' friends are also pretty shallow,
But there's a lovable shallowness, so,
Or maybe there's that intentional shallowness, so that guy might actually be incredibly capable.
But, well, with people you don't know, or people you're talking to for the first time, you meet them and think, this guy is shallow.
思う。You think that.
Well, when you actually meet that person you might not think so, but for example when you listen to them on YouTube and think this person is shallow,
Don't you have moments like that?
It happens, of course.
And I thought a little about when we end up feeling that way.
I want to talk about that today.
Shallow.
What is shallow about it.
Why is this person's thinking shallow.
In what kind of places do we become conscious of that.
Well, probably first of all, the important thing is that their perspective is narrow.
What does it mean to have a narrow perspective, well basically all people have their own perspective, right.
Oneself, you know, and they're only speaking from their own perspective.
This is where the shallowness first appears.
Talking about yourself, well, talking about yourself is fine.
Talking about yourself is fine, but the feeling as seen from your own eyes, your own viewpoint, right.
What people often call a one-meter radius, a two-meter radius.
That circle around yourself.
They can only see the circle around themselves.
And they only see it from the angle visible from their own eyes.
In other words, they're only talking about themselves.
And furthermore, they're only talking about very realistic things.
This morning I woke up, went to the toilet, drank coffee, that's my way of talking, I think.
Well, but I've said this over and over for Japanese learning, but basically there's no one like that, right.
あのWell,
Even with friends or acquaintances, and also as content, Japanese learning content is quite often
intentionally made to be simple, so many people talk that way.
Yes, hello everyone today.
Today I woke up in the morning and first went to the toilet and pooped, do we really have to go out of our way to say things like that.
Why is that, because it's all for the learners.
It's all for the learners, so people deliberately talk in a childish way.
I don't do that.
I don't do that.
I say it in a cooler way.
I woke up in the morning and
For the toilet, the big one, you know, it was pretty big so
I did it in two parts, I talk in a way that requires a bit of imagination, but normal people just say I pooped.
Well well well well anyway, and
Within a one-meter radius I pooped and then came out of the toilet,
And well, when talking about how actually this happened today, after all it's only from your own
Only from your own perspective, and only realistic talk.
If you only talk about realistic things, it's shallow.
Yes.
はいTo become deeper, you need to use a bit more imagination.
And not just ourselves, but when it becomes talk like humankind, we humans, we, it gains a bit more depth.
And not just the present, you have to think about the past and the future at the same time.
The past means at least back to about 500,000 years ago, and the future should also be considered at least about 2,000 years ahead.
Past which is at least about 500,000 years ago, future which is also at least about 2,000 years later should be considered.
It's only two thousand years, just two thousand years at most, so it's not that difficult.
The reason I don't think about five hundred thousand years from now is that it's quite hard to imagine whether humans will still be alive then.
That's saying something pretty scary, I think.
Even if we can talk about humans tens of thousands of years ago, we can't talk about humans tens of thousands of years in the future.
If that's possible, that's terrifying.
Will humans be able to survive from now on forever.
Well, forever might be impossible.
With the way things are now, it's impossible, right.
And, what else is shallow, what kind of thing is shallow, well, someone who doesn't make jokes is shallow.
No matter how you look at it, someone who doesn't make jokes is shallow.
If you can't make jokes, that's no good.
Even my kid says it, like 'just kidding, kidding, Michael, just kidding.'
He can properly make jokes like that.
You have to be able to properly make jokes like that.
Well, 'just kidding, kidding, Michael, just kidding.'
And since my kid says that, well, I'd say to him, you're still shallow, you've got a long way to go.
Like, Papidanti's 'just kidding, kidding, Michael Jackson.'
When it gets to that level, it enters the world of surrealism.
It's not just saying 'just kidding, just kidding' straight.
Just kidding, kidding, Michael Jackson'
It feels like entering a quite mysterious world.
Hearing things like that, well, Professor Teppei is either a genius, or Professor Teppei is a real idiot.
It's one or the other, the answer is either he's a real genius or a real idiot.
But a real genius is almost the same as a real idiot.
Almost the same, how much that 'almost' is, and whether I fall into that 'almost' or not.
That's for all of you to judge.
I think, probably, almost.
If, for example, ninety-nine percent of 'almost' — ninety-nine percent genius and ninety-nine percent idiot are the same.
Then in the remaining one percent, I'm just, you know, simply an idiot.
Well, saying that about yourself, that's what humility is.
Anyway, talking to a shallow person is irritating, isn't it.
Listening to a shallow person makes you irritated, right.
I hope none of you are irritated right now.
But listening to a shallow person really does irritate you.
You wonder, why am I so irritated.
Why is this so boring.
Why doesn't he realize how boring what he's saying is.
Well, you'd think that, right.
You don't want to be thought of that way.
So it's better to say mysterious things, isn't it.
Mysterious things.
But if it's too mysterious, you're an idiot.
If it's too mysterious, it's like, what is this psychic bastard.
You become that, so around there you have to properly anticipate normal people, ordinary people.
And, to go back to what I said at the very beginning, a guy like Tomoya, he's like a weirdo pretending to be normal.
At first glance a normal guy, looking like a shallow guy at first glance.
But he's not doing that on purpose.
When does he show his depth.
I've seen that, several times.
It's when he goes silent.
Like, we're sitting together, you know, on a bench, like a park bench or something.
And then he goes quiet.
Like, without saying anything, he just starts staring at like the pond or something.
And at that moment, I feel a depth in his eyes, like a darkness.
It kind of scares me a little.
What a guy, this one.
You know, like Killua from Hunter x Hunter, was it Killua, is it Killua, Killua, like Killua from Hunter x Hunter, like
こう目が、まあゴンか、ゴンの方ですかね、ハンターハンターのゴンかな、なんか闇his eyes, well, Gon, it's Gon I guess, Gon from Hunter x Hunter, like eyes that you feel darkness in
that's how it feels.
At first glance Gon is like that too, right, at first glance he acts like a normal kid, but no matter how you look at it he's weird, right. Meh.
So anyway,
今日も何言ったかよく分かんなくてぐるぐるtoday again I have no idea what I said, I just went around in circles
話を回しただけで、でも皆さんにとってはtalking, but for all of you,
well, you got to learn new words like normal person and weirdo and stuff, so I think that was really great.
So don't get irritated, bye.
