Today I've come to the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Osaka.
This is the entrance, but it feels intimidating, doesn't it.
It really makes you wonder if it's okay to go in here, I feel a bit out of place, but I made a reservation here this time so I'll be brave and check in.
The door, well, it doesn't seem to be an automatic door.
It's manual.
Apparently it recreates a luxury British hotel, and luxury British hotels have manual doors, so I think it's deliberately manual.
Wow.
My eyes are burning, well not actually burning, but it's so glittery that psychologically it feels like my eyes are burning.
Well, wow, there are some rich people wandering around inside right now.
Maybe a little better.
Open it, is it okay.
It's still scary after all.
It feels like I've come somewhere I'm not supposed to come.
Oh, there's a splendid painting here, but
It has this atmosphere like, surely anyone who can't properly appreciate the value of this painting wouldn't check in, right? I just feel that one-sidedly.
That's not the case though.
Just look, these chairs already look like chairs you're not allowed to sit on.
Well, I've checked in for now so I'll head to the room. Ah,
The inside is like a maze again, but you won't get lost.
This elevator button, is this it.
Here we go.
Wow, it opened incredibly fast.
Does this open insanely fast.
It opens with this super high speed, whoosh.
When you tap this card key, apparently my room is on the 25th floor and it lights up automatically.
That's convenient.
When it closes, it closes slowly like this.
So when it opens it opens quickly with a bang, and when it closes it's like, I'm closing now, slowly slowly, I wonder if that's hospitality.
Let's go, 25th floor, my ears feel stuffy, it must be a high-performance elevator going up incredibly fast with a whoosh.
So probably the air pressure keeps changing, that's why my ears feel stuffy.
はい。Yes.
Wow that was fast, arrived at the 25th floor.
で。And.
The hotel interior is apparently modeled after British aristocrats' houses.
The candles and such really give that old-fashioned luxury feel, don't they.
And, oh, from here on is the Japanese-style room corner.
This time I'm staying in a Japanese-style room.
Wow, this moves well too, it moves even without touching it
Ah,
But this is a manual door.
So it's not automatic.
Yes, we've arrived.
This time where I'm staying is
Apparently there are only two Japanese-style suite rooms in this Ritz-Carlton Hotel,
Only this part at my feet is made in Japanese-style stonework, but this time I'll be staying in this room.
It cost 160,000 yen per night.
With this, when you touch the card key like this, the lock is released.
Can I get in?
It went in.
I'll open it.
This place definitely feels heavy and solid.
And this, when you let go, it closes by itself.
Is it an auto-lock? Oh,
It clicked shut, that surprised me.
It's an auto-lock.
As you enter, there's a nice scent.
The scent of tatami.
First there's a huge entrance, and from here you take off your shoes and step up.
So first let me take off my shoes here, and then there's a huge shoe cabinet here, this geta box, I'll open it.
Wow, it moves so smoothly.
I don't know if you need this much space in here, but you can put things in, so let's put them in here.
This spot is a bit narrow.
Probably, ah, this won't fit.
Probably people who bring real Japanese-style old-fashioned footwear would use this.
So I'll put my shoes in here.
Yes, they're in.
The entrance is just too huge, and further in I can see at least four fusuma sliding doors.
The fusuma seem to be lavishly sprinkled with gold leaf and glittering, but let's look inside.
I'll open it.
First, here is the living room.
If you want to relax, please do so here.
There are splendid chairs for four people that look like they'd be used for the Taisei Hokan, and that alone seems like it would be enough, but there's one more.
Since this is a suite, it's made up of two connected rooms, and there's another room over here.
Oh, there's nothing here.
This is apparently the room for laying out futons and sleeping here at night.
By the way, this room can apparently sleep up to five people with futons laid out.
That means, well, it's 160,000 yen, but if five people stay and split it by five, it's about 30,000 yen per person to come here.
I think that kind of training-camp vibe would be fun too, and over here is the tokonoma alcove for entertaining guests.
The three-piece set for the tokonoma: hanging scroll, vase, and incense burner, they're all here.
It was apparently thought up in the Muromachi period by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu or someone, I don't know who,
Burning incense here, ah
What a wonderful fragrance to entertain guests with
And in that vase there, some flowers are arranged, ah, wonderful flowers are arranged to entertain guests, and a splendid hanging scroll is displayed
Oh, this is a wonderful painting, to entertain guests with, well, this is the hospitality set that Japan has cultivated traditionally for 500 years, it's here
And then, here too there's some fusuma, shoji, what's here, there seems to be something, yes let's take a look, oh
There was still this much space, there's something like the sudare bamboo blind from Taiga dramas when the Emperor holds an audience
Is this what they call a hiroen, the wide veranda you find in ryokans?
You can see the view like from an observatory in Osaka.
Right over there is JR Osaka Station.
That building is right in front, you can see a bit of the Tokaido Line tracks, though no train seems to be coming right now, and over here you can see, over there
This is Aji-Kawaguchi, Kaiyukan, Universal Studios Japan, please take a look
And further in the distance, that hazy one is Awaji Island and Kobe's Mt. Rokko, what a beautiful view
Is this okay to step on with feet, it's lighting, oh the way it lights is somehow not ordinary, when it turns off it goes off quickly, when turning on
Softly, looking closely the flooring and ceiling are particular too, specially made slanted ceiling.
There is even an air conditioning outlet here so it doesn't get hot from here.
Probably the sun will shine from over there in time, so I think they specially put air conditioning here to counter that. Oh,
The limited express Thunderbird is running over there.
I can't quite see it.
Let's continue exploring inside the room.
There are various items, so first, is this lacquerware?
There is a huge table, reflecting the lighting, and as expected of a ryokan, there is a tea set.
First of all, what is this, there's something like sweets, isn't there. The Ritz-Carlton
Osaka Original Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies.
And it's even plural.

There are sheets, so I'd like to try one. Oh
It's heavy.
This feels quite hefty, so it looks pretty high-calorie, but it's 259 kilocalories per piece.
This is probably about as much as a bowl of rice.
It has quite a lot of energy, so it might be good to save it as emergency food.
It might be good to save it.
Let me open it.
Oh, what big chocolate, it has a very fragrant aroma.
It feels like freshly baked.
It seems to be mixed with crunchy chocolate chips and nuts.
Well, I'd like to try it.
うん。Mmm.
The texture, if I had to say, is crisp, it crumbles crisply.
It certainly has a fragrant flavor.
Let's savor it carefully.
Not just sweets, I have to have this tea.
What is this, it's a teapot.
Wow, this looks like no ordinary item.
There must be some device somewhere to boil water to pour into this teapot.
Let's try to find it in this huge room.
This is just one door, there are still many more.
Well, what about here.
There's even a place like this here.
Eh, this is like a dresser, a place to put on makeup.
It already feels like a stadium though.
Here is a huge, what was it called, washroom, and I can hear echoes from over there, this is
Yes, here it is.
Isn't this bath too huge.
About five people can fit in here.
Like a capsule hotel public bath, this could cover everyone.
I wonder if this enormity comes across.
It doesn't fit in the camera angle, so I doubt I'm conveying the full picture well.
Every sound echoes.
Because it's too spacious.
And over here
There seems to be an overwhelming amount of fluffy towels here, so much that you think you'll never run out, and even here in front of the washroom, not a single drop of water will be
allowed to escape, that's the feeling.
There seems to be something like this here too, what is this, there seems to be a foot towel, oh sorry, I found it.
This appears to be the corner for boiling water for tea and such.
Uh, this is probably the thing for putting ice in.
The ice is, I guess, you probably call on the phone to have it brought to you.
Here we have a large amount of water, mineral water,
There are glasses for four people and tea cups for two, and a full set of coffee to choose from, and what I was looking for
The thing to boil tea water is this.
Oh, I just plug this into an outlet and boil it, the outlet is here, here it is.
Well then.
This well-cleaned, well of course, there's no way the kettle would be dirty, but into this, okay,
It feels a bit wasteful, but shall I put some in, this mineral water.
By the way, this mineral water is apparently made at the foot of Mt. Fuji.
Huh, is it already boiling?
Huh, doesn't the water boil way too fast?
It's only been about 20 seconds since I turned on the switch,
Oh,
It's already like this just 1 minute after starting.
This is probably the type that won't stop unless you close the lid, it probably judges by the steam.
Yes, so the hot water was ready in an instant, and of course it's spacious, but with this thing, yes, I'm here,
I'd like to have some.
Let's have some green tea.
Gion Tsujiri Sencha tea bag.
What maker is this from. Ito...
en or something? No?
Kyotanabe City, Kyoto.
I've taken out the contents.
This has quite a vivid aroma.
It says it uses high-grade Uji tea from Kyoto.
That's why when you shake it like this, the powder comes out from inside.
It seems to contain a lot of proper tea leaves.
It says to brew the tea at 75 degrees, so well, I should wait a bit.
I'll open it a little to cool it down.
It's a bit of a waste of energy though.
Well, this much should be fine.
It says it will be ready 1 minute 30 seconds after pouring this in.
Well, since it's good tea.
Let's steep it properly for the full 1 minute 30 seconds.
This pottery is also getting faintly warm.
This pottery apparently has a history dating back to the time of Tokugawa Ieyasu and such.
It's just about right, oh, it turned into beautiful green tea leaves.
Well then.
Let's have some.
Now, I'd like to try it.
I wonder what it tastes like
Oh,
It has that nostalgic feeling.
Well, of course the taste itself does too, but there's something that resonates with my heart.
I wonder if it's because I'm drinking this tea I carefully brewed myself while smelling the tatami in this Japanese-style room
Ah, I let out a sigh of relief like this.
This Japanese way of relaxing is really nice. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel
はとても高級ですっていうのもいいですけど、is very luxurious and that's nice too, but
日本の新しいこう畳を張り替えた香りを嗅ぎながら自分でこう丁寧に入れた飲むお茶を最高ですってなんかそういうねsmelling the scent of freshly replaced new tatami in Japan while drinking tea I carefully brewed myself is the best, it kind of reminds me
of something a little important, that's how it feels.
So after this, they're going to come lay out the futon in the bedroom over here, well, while they're laying out
ここで敷いてくれている間に僕はまああそこにいてね座ってでそこで布団を敷いてくれているのを見ながら僕はここでねthe futon here, I'll be over there sitting, and while watching them lay out the futon, I'll be here
お茶飲んだりしてdrinking tea and such.
Ah, they're laying out the futon, hmm, hmm, watching that is a bit awkward, isn't it.
So they'll probably come to lay it out now, so there's a bit of a blind spot over there.
Okay.
Yes, please, so while they're doing that, I
Let's go eat dinner. This texture is amazing.
It's so easy to hold anywhere that I just want to grab it, but the polite way is to properly hold this handle, right?
This part here is just decoration, so probably holding it here is not very good.
It's funny how it suddenly feels like England.
The place to eat dinner is upstairs, and this time I'm apparently allowed to go to a place called the Club Lounge.
And there, the food is all-you-can-eat.
It opens again super fast.
バン。Bang.
It's so fast.
So, um, if I hold up the room key, I think I'll probably be able to go up.
Huh?
It won't open.
It's okay.
This elevator is huge, isn't it.
Look how big it is.
Arrived at the 34th floor.
I have to be quiet.
This is the Club Lounge.
There are already lots of rich-looking people inside, so I have to be careful.
Well, you have to be careful even if they're not rich, but still, it's a bit scary.
This is the lounge entrance reception.
Looks like there's no one here right now.
That helps avoid a bit of awkwardness.
Still scary though.
But no one's here now.
Let's look around while no one's here.
Unlimited view of the Osaka night scenery.
Over here is Dojima, where there was a rice market in the Edo period.
Nash's head office is around there, that's Nash over there.
So I've gotten myself some food too.
I might have taken a bit too much though.
I took so much fish, there's apparently a term called lounge beggar, and I kind of have that vibe, but I got a lot of fish.
This is conger eel.
And youlinji, roast pork, fish, vegetables.
And Chinese jellyfish dish, roast beef, this is high-class, right.
Maitake mushrooms, and pork shabu salad, there's roast beef here too, I took as much as I could get.
Well, they brought this wet towel to my seat too, and this water, they asked me, sir, would you like something to drink.
They offered, so I ordered water.
I'm a bit scared to drink wine or anything, and isn't this wet towel a bit big.
Even if I just leave it here casually, it gets quite humid.
And right in front of me there's this streak of light passing through.
Is this Osaka's number one downtown area.
That Kita-Shinchi area.
An incredible amount of money is spent here day after day, an absolute capital, well, like Ginza.
From here there's a tall mountain right in front.
The Ikoma Mountains.
If you go over beyond those mountains, well, there's the Great Buddha and such, that's Nara Prefecture.
Well, Nara.
Well then, let's dig in.
That looks good.
Here, there were chopsticks.
I'll take the chopsticks.
How about this.
It's a bit, like, piled too high, too greedy.
Like, because it's all-you-can-eat I just kept bringing more and more, that kind of vibe is just
満ち溢れてますけれども、他のお客さんを見てみると謙虚ですから、このなんかガバガバと取ってくる人いないからね、ちょっと恥ずかしいんですけど、overflowing, but looking at the other customers they're modest, there's no one grabbing loads like this, so it's a bit embarrassing, but
I only get to come to places like this when I'm filming a video, so I'd like to eat a lot on this occasion.
Protein.
Next, let's have the maitake mushrooms.
Maitake are expensive, you know.
It smells like maitake.
Obviously, of course.
Next I'll have this grilled pork.
The grainy mustard is working nicely.
Here I go.
The mustard flavor, the mustard is delicious.
So this seems to be a specialty dish.
I'd like to try the conger eel.
It's carefully topped with Japanese pepper.
Here I go.
I'll also have the tender roast beef.
This is delicious, but it would taste even better with wine.
Maybe I'll go get some.
It's just up ahead there.
Just a little is fine, can I have this one.
I got just a little wine.
Well, this is delicious, but if I just keep eating only this, I do get a bit tired of it.
うん。Yeah.
It's delicious, delicious, but so with this red wine, I think, just drink a little of this,
これを口に含むぐらいでいいと思うけど、ちょっと口に入れてjust enough to hold it in your mouth is fine, put a little in your mouth and
Ah,
then.
It feels like the taste gets a nice break.
Like Japanese sweets and matcha.
And what else, like rice and miso soup.
Drinking wine like that kind of palate cleanser seems to make it taste good.
Yeah yeah.
My mouth feels reset and I can keep eating again.
Well then, let's eat lots of this fish.
With a little wine.
Just holding about a sip in your mouth while you eat makes it taste even better.
I see, so wine is kind of like miso soup.
And for dessert, we also have this.
It's warabimochi.
It's jiggly.
So this slime-like warabimochi, and also, this is just an empty glass but it's already covered in condensation.
I asked for a glass to get some water and it was already ice-cold, so I got this.
Let's eat.
Was this in the room earlier?
Okay, now this.
It's this soft yet surprisingly firm. Ah,
It's incredibly easy to eat.
I can properly pick it up.
Holding this translucent one up to the Osaka night view, you can really see through it.
That's a bit crude, so let's stop. Ah,
This really has a proper warabi-like flavor.
It's real warabimochi.
I hear a lot of warabimochi doesn't actually contain warabi.
Yes, thank you for the meal.
I've come back to the room.
The futon should already be laid out in the room.
Coming to this room at night makes it feel even more imposing.
Oh, I had left all these sliding doors open, but the staff must have checked them all and closed them again.
I guess that's part of the service.
Yes, first here's the guest room side, ah, sorry, they've tidied up all the mess I made.
And on the opposite side here, oh, this looks like someone's about to come home.
Having a single futon laid out in this gorgeous, extravagant room feels kind of funny, but it's fine, it's fine.
So this is what it looks like, with the futon laid out it really feels more pulled together.
Ah, you could call it a sense of luxury, but there's this feeling of being in an extraordinary environment.
Now I've come to this wide engawa with a night view, there's this spacious veranda-like area.
The night view of Osaka Station area, you can see the office building across the street, the lights are on but there are no employees at all.
It's about 9 PM now, but everyone doesn't work overtime these days.
Things like unpaid overtime or calling people who leave on time jerks, that kind of culture seems gone from the office buildings around here.
Indeed, the working environment has probably improved, though there may still be room for more improvement.
Huh, there's something cute by the pillow. Ah,
どう?How about it?
Was this here earlier?
If something this cute had been here, I think I would have noticed, so they probably brought it out when laying the futon.
I don't know where this luxurious futon was kept, but there are probably various storage-like spaces inside.
There's one more spot here, honestly I'm sorry.
This here is for emergencies, in case of a fire or something you can escape from here using a ladder.
Apparently you can open this, but the emergency alarm
が鳴ってしまうということですが、will go off, so,
Sorry, but the main point is there's a door here, and a door on the other side too, so they're probably storing futons and such inside.
うん。Yeah.
I wonder what kind of futon this is.
They've laid it out so beautifully and perfectly that it feels like a waste to open it, but it really is beautiful.
Let's take a little look at what kind of futon it is. Oh,
As expected.
This super thick mattress, like memory foam, looks comfortable enough just on its own, but
on top of that laying a futon, so it's double-layered with one more stacked.
With all this, I wonder if I can put it back, I'd like to restore it reasonably neatly.
Oh no.
Those people were really good at laying out bedding after all.
Next, tomorrow morning's breakfast, since this room is such a place, you'd want to eat in the room, right.
I'll ask a bit, I'll try asking if we can eat breakfast in the room.
I'm having them connect me by phone now.
There's a cute little table, so from here I'll pay the difference by phone and have them let me eat in the room.
Yes, using this cute phone I was able to order food.
This here is the dining menu,
, Continental breakfast is 3,900 yen, American is 5,500 yen, and there's also Japanese food for 5,500 yen.
Well, it's quite pricey, but since I'm already on a plan that includes breakfast,
it seems they'll bring Japanese food to the room if I pay 2,000 yen as the difference, so I paid 2,000 yen and ordered this.
Next, I don't need to be wearing this suit, so I'm going to take it off, and there's something to hang clothes on here, but this is, you know, for formal wear.
It's for hanging Japanese clothes like an emon-kake, right.
I think people who came in really nice kimono probably use that, but I'm not wearing kimono,
since this is Western clothes, the place to hang Western clothes is probably, there's a washroom here that I haven't opened yet, but I think it's here.
There's nowhere else, I'll open it.
That's right.
But this is quite big.
This side is the safe.
The safe is this big.
People who come to the point of using a safe this big might be traveling with gold bars or something.
Apparently there really are people like that.
Like super rich people.
Like kimono, you know, there was that thing to hang clothes over there.
Super rich people wear kimono and such.
Since people with money often come to places like this, there it was.
So here we have these neatly arranged, what are they?
Not an emon-kake but hangers, so let's hang it here for now.
And there's a bathrobe.
Since four people can stay, there seem to be four of them, and there are also four pajamas.
And looking further, if you look closely there's also this nemaki, the Japanese-style one.
So there are about three kinds of sleepwear-like things.
And I'm going to go exercise a bit.
Let's go to the gym now.
To unlock this room, you press this button, then the electric lock here is released and you can open the door.
There's this mysterious device like this.
When you touch it, it's faintly warm.
If it were an electromagnet, you could move it if you applied force, right.
How does it work.
This gets locked.
Is it a magnet.
I think it's probably a lock mechanism that holds this down tightly with an impossibly strong magnet.
Just guessing, but it's really getting very hot over there, so it probably has to do with electric current.
This hotel's elevator doesn't seem to have Japanese written on the buttons.
Let's try our best in English. The
fitness center.
This area is kind of tricky.
It's written in Japanese too. Oh,
Oh, it's written there.
That can't be right.
Is this the 6th floor?
No, my reaction of 'is this the 6th floor' is weird, but, oh, is this the entrance to the gym?
The ceiling is about three meters high.
Well, shall we go from here?
I'm a bit scared though.
Oh, there it is, I see.
On the wall are paintings of upper-class British people playing golf.
Wow, what is this place, is this the gym?
They're playing shorehig golf.
Is this the gym, is this it? Oh,
It looks like we have to change shoes from here. Indoor shoes.
If you don't have them, they'll lend you some for 500 yen.
But only until 10 PM.
So we've come to the gym when there's just no one here.
Wow, what is this, ah.
Not only is the scale just too big, but there's one towel at each machine.
What, and there's even water.
The water is already set out.
I've never seen anything like this.
Wow, they seriously have everything. I mean, I've never seen a fitness gym with this much stuff.
Well, they even have dumbbells, pretty heavy ones too.
They even have a huge bench press machine. I don't think hotels usually have this level of equipment.
Oh, you can adjust the weight in quite fine increments too.
So it's like this, and until about 9 PM there's a professional trainer there who will tell you things.
So there's probably a paid, simple training service.
There's also a nice water server.
It's tall and gives off a mysterious sense of luxury.
What is this, no way, no way, oh, so this comes out.
So if you want to do it, you can do this.
These pedals also feel luxurious.
Wow, it's coming out with very little force.
The water is tasty, well, maybe it just tastes good because I'm exercising.
There's a scale too.
It doesn't look like an ordinary scale.
With this, can you set the weight of your clothes?
Then let's set it to about 1.2 kilos.
Oh, then does the scale's reading become minus 1.2?
And then get on this.
Measure my weight.
It says I'm about 61.6 kilos.
Does it show body fat percentage too?
It probably does.
17.1 percent.
I wonder how that is.
Furthermore, there's this kind of thing, could it be that there are wet towels inside?
Do they even have something like that?
Thank you very much.
And it's not just the wet towel.
Some wonderful fragrance seems to be wafting over.
So this is.
Is this the source of the Ritz-Carlton scent.
Well then, let's have it.
Wow, this is nicely chilled too.
This is for wiping your face or something, right.
What a wonderful scent.
It smells like lemon.
Like, put the used one in here.
します。Yes.
Over there they seem to sell protein and Pocari Sweat for 550 yen.
On the other hand, this one has no price written.
It seems to be free.
Bananas are good, aren't they.
For exercise and such.
They also offer stretching by a trainer for 15 minutes at 5,500 yen, which is quite a price.
Well, it's already 10:30, so let's head back to the room.
As expected, this place is, yeah, quite warm.
I wonder how it works.
I definitely think it's their own doing.
Now, to finish off the day, I'd like to take a bath in the big tub, but as you saw earlier,
Since it's huge, if this were my home bath it would take about an hour to fill,
Well, I think it's probably set up so it doesn't take that long.
This is heavy.
I can feel an iron will to never let water leak.
Um, so, is it still here.
After carefully tightening the plug.
Now, uh, what do I do with this.
This moves incredibly lightly, but what is this?
Is it a faucet.
It looks like it will take a while for the water to fill.
I wonder how it works.
Let's try turning it. Oh,
It's set up so you can automatically set just the right amount.
Um, so, this, ah, with this, uh,
So I set the temperature to 40 degrees and the water amount to about 170 liters.
Then this dial automatically keeps turning and turning, counting down on its own, and the water seems to fill automatically at just the right point.
Won't this take time.
Well, it takes time for me too, since I have to undress before getting in the bath. Oh,
I found something.
I wonder if this was here before. Bath salt menu
It says.
There's a menu, for putting salt in the bath.
Please relax with bath salts from Brittany, France.
Do you know what Brittany is.
I don't really know, and there doesn't seem to be any Japanese written.
Chamomile, lavender, rose, ah, good, I could read them all.
Which one shall we choose.
I think I'll go with rose.
For this ultimate choice, lavender is more relaxing.
Let's smell them.
Yeah, sorry, this reminds me of that.
You know, like some kind of air freshener, you know.
How about this.
Yeah, this is it, let's go with this, chamomile it is.
By the way, how is the hot water flow.
It feels like a somewhat weak flow.
I should turn this up to max.
Oh, wow, it comes out this much. Ah,
Good.
This should work.
It says something like for me too, turn it to full blast once and then turn it back.
YouTubeWell, with anything, it's good to try going full blast once. YouTube
has that kind of aspect too.
Now, while the bath is filling, I want to brush my teeth, and these look like the amenities.
Oh, there's a lot, quite a lot.
Is there enough for all 4 people?
Razors for 4 people, toothpaste and toothbrushes for 4 people too.
Nail file, hairbrush.
What is this?
This is also a hairbrush, there are brushes for 4 people.
Razor, what is a razor?
What could it be.
Probably a shaver.
I wonder if there's no floss pick.
I forgot to bring mine.
I looked in my bag and found it.
It's the thing called dental floss, right?
Without this my teeth don't get clean.
Even luxury hotels still don't have it, but in 10 years it'll probably be in every hotel.
Thirty minutes have passed since I started filling the bath.
It's still only half full.
It really takes a lot to fill this.
Well, I'll grind a bit more and go wash my body.
This is a normal bucket, but this is kind of interesting.
This was plastic, made in Japan, apparently Japanese-made.
It's not made in China.
By the way, at the Tokyo Ritz-Carlton there was normally a bucket too, there was a bucket, but there was an incident where it came off, but this time
it doesn't seem to fail.
So far this is a slightly unusual, authentic shower.
Here I go.
Ah, it comes out nicely like Kirifuri Falls in a mist.
Beautiful, beautiful.
Let's make a rainbow.
Ah, what a waste.
There were two such luxury soaps and I splashed water on them.
There's this wonderful palm-tree-like scent wafting, but the soap melted.
The bath still isn't completely full, but well, about half is good enough for now.
This is, no, seriously
terrible, this.
Wait, wait a minute.
This is normally big enough to swim in.
Ah, this is the large public bath.
There are guest rooms with open-air baths,
in the world, like at hot springs.
But there are also guest rooms with a large public bath.
If you look closely here, there's like a big ventilation intake and exhaust vent.
Yeah, if you're going to make such a huge room a changing room, the size of the fan makes sense.
YouTubeWell, I want to relax a bit more, but I'll get out now, it's already around 11:40 PM, I should get some sleep. YouTube
I've been in quite a few luxury hotel videos, right? Luxury hotel videos are easy,
Like staying at these nice places
なんかこういういいホテルに泊まってうわすごい快適だみたいなことを言ってればなんか動画成立するみたいなねこんな仕事簡単じゃないかみたいなand just saying wow, this nice hotel is so comfortable, and that somehow makes a video, like this job is so easy
Some people might think that, but I think that every time before I start filming, like today I'm staying at the Ritz-Carlton and just filming,
楽だわ外も暑いけど館中なら涼しいし楽だわと思ってるんですけどso it's easy, it's hot outside but cool inside, so easy, that's what I think, but
意外に始めると撮るもの多くてね大変なんですね今surprisingly once I start, there's so much to film, it's tough. Now
えっと23時45分になりましたまあまあ大変つったらねit's 11:45 PM, well, when I say tough,
there are people in the world doing really hard jobs, so I can't really say I'm working hard just doing this.
It's more tiring than I expected.
So let's take a break.
Nice, I haven't tried sleeping on this tatami yet.
Yeah, hotel-type videos are pretty difficult.
Trains are easy.
Like the Sunrise, the train moves on its own and the scenery changes for you.
But with hotels you're just in the room the whole time so the view never changes, so you have to think of things yourself and that tires you out.
And the price is insanely high too.
So if you don't think it through, it just becomes a bragging video.
I'm a bit worried that maybe it already has become that.
Oh, there's another one on this outer side.
I think it's good to pull this down.
Tomorrow morning's light will probably come in around 4 or 5 AM, so it might be too bright and wake me up.
These curtains are well made too.
This side has a slightly shiny material, probably designed to reflect the sunlight.
And this side seems to be made of cotton.
If I installed something like this at home, my house quality would go up.
And now, finally, introducing the last service from the Ritz-Carlton, it seems each person gets a set like this before bed.
They gave it to me when they laid out the futon.
One chocolate here, two here, one chocolate, giving it before bed seems to be a Ritz-Carlton standard.
And what is this?
I think this was something to smell before bed, there's a spray in here.
Lavender scent, and then I need to brush my teeth.
This big toothpaste, Ritz-Carlton toothpaste, oh, it doesn't look exclusive, oh, there's a seal to confirm it's definitely unused.
This looks a bit hard to peel off. Oh,
but it's not hard.
It peeled off easily.
And here is the toothbrush.
What is this?
It's a bamboo toothbrush, and this.
Whoa, what is this toothpaste.
So you can even make this kind of clear, gel-like toothpaste.
Well, regular white toothpaste would be fine too, but that sense of novelty is important.
Oh, this toothpaste is kind of tasty, tasty, tasty.
This toothpaste is apparently the organic kind.
I'm not really sure what organic toothpaste is all about.
Now I'll turn back this futon and spray the spray I received, pshoo pshoo.
Did I spray too much?
Now I'll get into the futon.
Oh, what a soft lavender scent.
My heart is healed,
And with that, today's work is also finished,
I've been filming continuously all the way here on the highway bus from Tokyo, but here I want to turn off my own power as well.
Apparently it's not very good to work right up until bedtime and then suddenly go to sleep.
It seems it's better for your autonomic nervous system to have some time to wind down before sleeping.
From now on I'll plan hotels with more leeway.
Good morning.
Yes, good morning.
It's 8 AM the next morning.
I slept very well.
I brought an eye mask on this trip too, and it really came in handy.
In the season with long days, like July, some light gets in and I naturally wake up feeling refreshed around 6,
but I often think I should get a bit more sleep, so I put on the eye mask and fall back into a deep sleep.
Now, please take a look at breakfast.
They've brought it for me.
The Nepalese staff member kindly brought it over.
Wow, there's quite a lot of it.
Let me pull out the chair, okay.
So it's all served on this big tray.
Ah, a wide variety of homemade dishes.
Simmered minced shiitake mushrooms, green beans with sesame dressing, and sweet potato and pumpkin simmered in some way,
Or this is dried daikon radish.
It looks light and delicious.
And here they've topped it with something like chopped beef on the surface.
Side dishes uniquely Japanese, perfect for breakfast.
And the main dishes are thick-cut salmon fillet and tofu.
Now, next, let's have some rice from the rice tub.
Here, the rice is well mixed in the tub, so this looks homemade.
And for the miso soup, the ingredients are already placed in this like this, and you pour in the dashi stock yourself at your preferred timing. Ah,
Maybe a little something.
The miso might be at the bottom.
It looked a little thin. Ah,
It's turned out nicely.
Also, this silver pot contains tea, and there's quite a lot in here too.
It's packed full of plenty of tea leaves.
Pouring hot water over these plentiful tea leaves, it should be just the right temperature.
Is this right?
Am I doing this correctly?
Probably not.
It opens when you press it, so it seems you pour with it in this open state.
It feels like a traditional Japanese morning meal.
This is a bit too luxurious, though.
Because there are an insane number of side dishes.
Shall we turn on the TV then.
Having breakfast while watching TV sounds nice.
Nothing's on anymore at this hour.
I wonder what's on. Ritz-Carlton.
Well, having breakfast while watching this bourgeois-oriented video feels a bit strange, so let's switch to terrestrial NHK General Channel 1.
Asaichi, huh.
It's now 8:30.
Honestly I thought I'd eat breakfast a bit earlier, but I ended up sleeping late yesterday, so, itadakimasu.
There's salad too, so let's start with the salad.
It looks like it has French dressing on it.
I'll eat this with these square disposable chopsticks.
うん。Yeah.
A fragrant aroma like eating fruit.
They seem to have carefully selected only the soft parts of the lettuce.
Next, as the main dish, I'll have this kinako tofu.
It's firm.
Around it there's something like mizore, it seems grated daikon is mixed in.
Itadakimasu.
The crunchy texture of the green onion is a wonderful accent.
Is this a simmered shimeji dish.
There's shiitake inside.
Is it daikon.
Ah, the nice yuzu scent of the daikon.
Let's try this shiitake and the soboro-like stuff around it.
うん。Yeah.
This surrounding part seems to be okara.
It's very creamy okara.
When I eat something creamy, I start wanting tea.
That's just right.
Yeah, Oi Ocha is delicious too, but this green color is real green tea, right. Oh,
Oi Ocha is a bit brownish.
When you have something like this,
it really tightens up the flavor of the meal.
The kamaboko has a faint savory aroma drifting from it.
It looks like it's been seared. Ah,
Let's move on to the fish.
It would be a waste if it gets cold.
The well-seasoned salmon pairs with perfectly firm, yet of course not hard in the center, wonderful rice.
Now there's egg here, and I could see the dashi oozing out juicily, wonderfully. I want to try this too.
I think I'll have this.
Yeah, this is exactly dashimaki tamago.
The kiriboshi daikon deliberately isn't seasoned too strongly, going for the crisp texture of the ingredients themselves
The sansho pepper aroma goes well with the crunchy kiriboshi daikon.
It's this delicious.
Please, everyone try sansho pepper with kiriboshi daikon together.
Now finally let's try this miso soup with roughly chopped green onions in it.
The bigger the green onions in miso soup, the better.
What a wonderfully comforting taste.
Miso soup made with carefully prepared dashi and big chunks of green onion can be the best main dish, right?
I think it would have been nice to have a big piece of fried tofu in here too.
There's something like that, right?
Miso soup with huge green onions and huge fried tofu in it would be delicious, wouldn't it?
That's one of the easy ways to become happy.
Wow, what is this luxury. Smoky flavor
is a little extraordinary.
The cooking for this breakfast is exceptionally delicious.
It seems they're particular about grilling when making it.
Spinach ohitashi neatly arranged in a straight horizontal line.
よし。Alright.
うん。Yeah.
It has a crisp, slightly soft, refreshing texture, like eating potato chips.
And this one was okra.
Amazingly, it's carefully coated all around with sesame seeds.
Okra with sesame dressing, with sesame stuck on like a coating.
This combination of the dry texture of sesame and the moist texture of okra, they've really thought it through and made it carefully.
Thank you very much.
Including the rice, I enjoyed it all deliciously, but it's already 9:06 AM now.
I need to get going soon.
I have to go to Hiroshima after this today, so first I'll contact room service to have the dishes cleared.
Good morning.
I've just finished the meal.
Thank you very much.
So please clear the dishes, and at the same time, as much as I'll miss it, I'd like to depart from this room.
That's fine.
Hotels are for going out, so let's keep going out.
It was nice spending time in this Japanese-style room that looks like the Sazae-san family's tidy home, with well-organized things and not too much stuff.
I think I'll throw away a lot of stuff from my own house too and just fundamentally empty it out, you know, that minimalist thing.
I thought if I thoroughly cleaned my house, my own place could become like the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
ね。.
I'll do my best to clean my house.
There are no people in the morning.
Let me take a final shot of this lobby area.
Maybe an important person from England.
And there's also this kind of lobby lounge area.
Quite a few people gathered here yesterday for afternoon tea.
Oh, Horin.
Let's slip away like we're escaping.
Super fast, no good, I can't find the exit.
The hotel staff found me right away and guided me outside.
And they told me that this way is Osaka Station.
Yes, I heard this before, but the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Osaka doesn't put up lots of signs and directions everywhere,
Instead, they have a generous number of staff, and the staff guide you through everything one by one.
In a hotel with thorough guidance, you don't need to put up lots of notices.
And in reality, that's exactly what they do.
By the way, this whole area around this Ritz-Carlton Hotel was originally the JNR Umeda freight station.
They removed the tracks, and on the abandoned site where freight trains no longer come, they built things like the Ritz-Carlton and this shopping center.
There's something from Shiki Theatre Company here, isn't there?
I believe this is the birthplace of the Shiki Theatre Company. Here.
This place was originally a freight station, but the freight tracks were removed and it couldn't be redeveloped for a while, so it was left as vacant land.
Since it was vacant land, someone suggested doing theater there, and that's how the Shiki Theatre Company was born here, and I think they are probably still performing here even now.
JRThere was a time when you could buy Shiki Theatre Company tickets at the JR ticket office, the Midori no Madoguchi. It may not be the case anymore now.
So there is that kind of historical connection with JR,
というまあその昔の国鉄駅だった跡地の再開発をしているところに、in this place that is being redeveloped on the site of the old Japan National Railways station,
まあなんか劇団四季でやったりとか、そのなんかグッチだかなんだかのそのショッピングセンターでやったりとか、there's performances by Shiki Theatre Company, and a shopping center for Gucci or something,
and things like the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, with expensive things lined up — that is this redeveloped area in front of JR Osaka Station.
Now that we've finished looking around there, we'll head to JR Osaka Station. How many minutes until the train? 9 minutes.
We should be fine.
We'll take the 9:30 train to Shin-Osaka.
I don't even have the energy to cook anymore. Sue.
Eat Nosh. Sue.
誰?Who is it?
If it's Nosh.
You can just heat it in the microwave and eat it. Suits Channel

It's unfair how easily you can get nutrition like this.
Nosh, please take care of it.
