【3台掘り】新たなポテトハーベスター導入！ジャガイモ収穫が一気に変わりました

これからね、今日きょうもまたジャガイモの収穫しゅうかくを行おこなっていきます。From now on, today we'll be harvesting potatoes again.

今いまちょうどいい感かんじに3台だい並ならんでるので撮影さつえいしてみました。Right now three machines are lined up nicely, so I tried filming them.

一昨日おとといですね。The day before yesterday.

一昨日おとといの午後ごごから収穫しゅうかくを始はじめているんですけど、もう今日きょうの午前中ごぜんちゅうで終おわりそうなので、まあ丸まる二日ふつかあれば終おわるかなっていう感かんじになります。We started harvesting in the afternoon the day before yesterday, but it looks like we'll finish this morning, so it takes about two full days.

はいということで今日きょうも頑張がんばってやっていきます。So, let's do our best again today.

改あらためてね、収穫しゅうかく機き紹介しょうかいしていくと、こちらうちのトラクターです。Let me introduce the harvesters again, this is our tractor.

それにウルトラセブンがついております。It has the Ultra Seven attached to it.

これはうちのトラクターなので、主おもに私わたしが運転うんてんを行おこなっています。This is our tractor, so I mainly drive it.

そしてこちらはお友達ともだちのトラクターですね。And this is my friend's tractor.

お友達ともだちのトラクターに同おなじくウルトラセブンの収穫しゅうかく機きがついています。My friend's tractor also has the same Ultra Seven harvester attached.

今年ことしから新あたらしく導入どうにゅうしたトップワンです。This is the Top One we newly introduced this year.

鍛治かじ職人しょくにんが運転うんてんが得意とくいなので、とりあえずね今年ことしは鍛治かじ職人しょくにんが運転うんてんを行おこなってくれています。Kaji-shokunin is good at driving, so for now this year Kaji-shokunin is driving it.

今いまね収穫しゅうかくが来きました。The harvest truck has just arrived.

コンテナがずらっと並ならんでいるんですけど、あの黒くろいのがシートかかってます。The containers are lined up, and that black thing is covered with a sheet.

日ひが当あたらないようにね、ジャガイモに日ひが当あたらないようにシートかけているんですけど、それを今いま取とりに来きてくれました。We're covering them with a sheet so the potatoes don't get sunlight, and they've just come to pick that up.

まだね7時しちじ過すぎなんですけど、めちゃくちゃ早はやいですね。It's still just after 7, but that's really early.

やっぱトップワンコンビート大おおきいですね。The Top One combine is big after all.

基本的きほんてきにウルトラセブンの場合ばあい後うしろには4人よにん乗のることができます。Basically, the Ultra Seven can have 4 people riding in the back.

こっち側がわに1人ひとり、その向むかいに1人ひとり。One person on this side, one person opposite.

なんですけど、トップワンはだいたい4人よにんから5人にんです。But the Top One is about 4 to 5 people.

ちょうどここにね、あの自転車じてんしゃのサドルがついていて、ちょっと腰掛こしかけれるような感かんじになっているんですけど、そこに2人ふたり乗のることも可能かのうです。Right here there's a bicycle saddle attached, so you can sit on it, and 2 people can ride there.

今回こんかいこちらのトップワンはお友達ともだちの農家のうかさんから購入こうにゅうした中古品ちゅうこひんになります。This Top One is a used machine purchased from a farmer friend.

年式ねんしきは2011年ねんのものだそうです。It's a 2011 model.

ちなみにうちで今いまも使つかっているウルトラセブンは1996年ねんに購入こうにゅうしたものなのでBy the way, the Ultra Seven we're still using was purchased in 1996, so

今年ことしでなんと30年ねんになります。This year marks an incredible 30 years.

そう考かんがえると、2011年ねん製せいのトップワンはうちにとってはかなり新あたらしい機械きかいになりますWhen you think about it that way, the 2011 Top One is quite a new machine for us

。トップワン. The Top One

の大おおきな特徴とくちょうが機械きかいの真下ましたではなく右横みぎよこのうねを掘ほり上あげていくところです。Its big feature is that it digs up the ridge to the right side, not directly underneath the machine.

これまで使つかっていたウルトラセブンの場合ばあいはトラクターと収穫しゅうかく機きで二にうね跨またいで走はしり、With the Ultra Seven we've used until now, the tractor and harvester straddled two ridges,

その跨またいでいる右側みぎがわのうねを掘ほり上あげていました。and it dug up the right-side ridge that it was straddling.

一方いっぽうトップワンも同おなじように二ふたうねを跨またいで走はしるんですが、掘ほるのはその二ふたうねではなくThe Top One also straddles two ridges in the same way, but what it digs is not those two ridges

跨またいでいるうねからさらに一ひとつ右側みぎがわ、つまり機械きかいの真下ましたではなく横よこにずれたうねを掘ほり上あげながら進すすんでいきます。but one more ridge to the right of the straddled ridges — in other words, it moves forward digging a ridge offset to the side, not directly underneath the machine.

実際じっさいに乗のってみると、まず選別せんべつコンベアがウルトラセブンの時ときよりも少すこし長ながかったです。When I actually rode it, first the sorting conveyor was a little longer than on the Ultra Seven.

もちろんその分ぶん機械きかい自体じたいのサイズも大おおきくなっています。Of course, the machine itself is also bigger by that much.

ウルトラセブンと同おなじように収穫しゅうかくしたジャガイモを入いれるメインタンク、Just like the Ultra Seven, it has a main tank for the harvested potatoes,

石いしや腐くさってしまった芋いもを入いれるタンク、さらに規格外品きかくがいひんを分わける場所ばしょがあります。a tank for stones and rotten potatoes, and a place to separate out-of-spec potatoes.

ただこの規格外品きかくがいひんを入いれる部分ぶぶんが少すこし違ちがっていて、トップワンではタンクではなくコンベアになっています。But this part for out-of-spec potatoes is a little different — on the Top One it's a conveyor instead of a tank.

規格外きかくがいの芋いもをここに乗のせていって、手元てもとがいっぱいになってきたらコンベアを少すこし動うごかして奥おくへ送おくる。You place the out-of-spec potatoes here, and when your hands get full, you move the conveyor a little to send them to the back.

またいっぱいになったら少すこし動うごかして送おくるという感かんじでコンベア全体ぜんたいに溜ためていくような仕組しくみになっています。When it fills up again, you move it a little more — it's designed to accumulate them across the whole conveyor like that.

このトップワンは東洋とうよう農のう機きさんのハーベスターで、2002年ねんから販売はんばいされているそうです。This Top One is a harvester from Toyo Agricultural Machinery, and apparently it's been on sale since 2002.

そのため周まわりの農家のうかさんでも7型がたと呼よばれるウルトラセブンではなくトップワンを使つかっている方ほうはかなり多おおいです。That's why quite a lot of farmers around here use the Top One rather than the Ultra Seven, known as the Type 7.

ちなみに今いまこのトップワンを新品しんぴんで購入こうにゅうすると正確せいかくな金額きんがくはわかりませんが1000万いっせんまん円えん以上いじょうはするかと思おもいます。By the way, I don't know the exact price if you buy this Top One new now, but I think it would cost over 10 million yen.

農業機械のうぎょうきかいは本当ほんとうに高たかいです。Farm machinery is really expensive.

今いまは規格外品きかくがいひんのジャガイモをダンプに空あけようとしています。Right now we're trying to unload the out-of-spec potatoes into the dump truck.

こちらはコンベア式しきになっているのでその分ぶんダンプとの距離きょりを縮ちぢめるのが難むずかしそうです。Since this one is conveyor-style, it seems hard to get it close enough to the dump truck.

操作方法そうさほうほうもウルトラセブンとは結構けっこう違ちがうようなので今年ことしは私わたしは見学けんがくです。The operation seems quite different from the Ultra Seven too, so this year I'm just observing.

続つづいて石いしタンクもダンプの方ほうに空あけていきます。Next, we'll empty the stone tank into the dump truck as well.

そしてお次つぎはメインタンクです。And next is the main tank.

こちらもまた特徴的とくちょうてきでシュートと呼よばれるジャガイモの排出はいしゅつ口くちがくるっと丸まるまった形かたちになっています。This is also distinctive — the potato outlet called the chute is curled around in a round shape.

ジャガイモを送おくり出だすとその重おもみでシュートが自然しぜんに開ひらく仕組しくみになっているそうです。Apparently it's designed so that the weight of the potatoes being discharged naturally opens the chute.

ただシュートが開ひらくとジャガイモが一気いっきに出でてくるのでコンテナに入いれる量りょうを細こまかく調整ちょうせいするのは難むずかしいみたいです。But once the chute opens, the potatoes all come out at once, so it seems difficult to finely adjust the amount going into the container.

ウルトラセブンに戻もどってきました。We're back to the Ultra Seven.

今年ことしうちでジャガイモを栽培さいばいしている畑はたけは全部ぜんぶで2枚にまいになります。This year our farm has a total of 2 fields growing potatoes.

1枚いちまい目めが約やく5ヘクタール、そして今いま収穫しゅうかくしているこちら2枚にまい目めが約やく7.5ヘクタールです。The first one is about 5 hectares, and this second one we're harvesting now is about 7.5 hectares.

さらにこの後あとはお友達ともだちの畑はたけにも収穫しゅうかくに行いくので全部ぜんぶで10ヘクタールくらいになります。After that, we'll also go harvest a friend's field, so it'll be about 10 hectares in total.

まだねうちの農場のうじょうの収穫しゅうかくを行おこなっていますが今日きょうにはWe're still harvesting our farm, but today

すべてうちの農場のうじょうすべてジャガイモ収穫しゅうかくが終おわってお友達ともだちの農場のうじょうに途中とちゅうで移動いどうする形かたちになるかと思おもいます。all of our farm's potato harvesting should finish, and we'll likely move to our friend's farm partway through.

ちなみにあと残のこり50本ほん、ここの畝うねが50本ほんです。50By the way, there are 50 rows left here, 50 rows. 50

まあこう一本いっぽんずつね掘ほっていくんですけど、まあ一手いってもどってで一いちを掘ほる二本にほん掘ほるんですよ。well, we dig them one by one like this, well, going back and forth, we dig one, we dig two rows.

二本にほん掘ほってコンテナがいっぱいになる。Dig two rows and a container gets full.

それくらい収量しゅうりょうが多おおいです。The yield is that high.

去年きょねんは本当ほんとうに干かんばつでかなり収量しゅうりょうが少すくなかったんですけど、真逆まぎゃくですね。Last year there was a real drought and the yield was very low, but it's the complete opposite.

なので今日きょうは途中とちゅうでお友達ともだちの農場のうじょうに移動いどうすることになるかと思おもいます。So today we'll likely move to our friend's farm partway through.

なので移動いどうするってなるとハーベスター3台だいと収穫しゅうかくできない芋いもだったり、あと石いしや腐くさった芋いも。So when we move, there are 3 harvesters, plus the unharvestable potatoes, and stones and rotten potatoes.

をダンプに開あけているので、そのダンプ4台だいも持もっていかないといけないです。that we're unloading into dumps, so we also have to take those 4 dump trucks with us.

なので結構けっこう移動いどうってなると時間じかんがかかるかなと思おもうんですけど、臨機応変りんきおうへんにやっていこうと思おもいます。So moving will take quite a bit of time, I think, but we'll handle it flexibly.

だいぶ畝うねが少すくなくなってきました。The rows have gotten quite few.

今いまね私わたしの前まえをもう一台いちだいハーベスターが走はしっていて、その隣となりをねダンプ1台いちだいが走はしってます。Right now another harvester is running in front of me, and next to it one dump truck is running.

結構けっこう収量しゅうりょうがあって毎回まいかいハーベスターから芋いもを下おろさないとコンテナに入いれないといけないので、The yield is quite good, so every time we have to unload the potatoes from the harvester into containers,

入いれるときにねちょっとどうしても詰つまり気味きみになってます。and when loading them, it inevitably gets a bit clogged.

詰つまり気味きみになって大体だいたいみんな入いれ終おわりが同時どうじでみんなこんな感かんじでね同おなじくらいのスピードで走はしっております。It gets clogged and everyone finishes loading at about the same time, so we're all running at about the same speed like this.

今いま、一度いちど午前ごぜん休憩きゅうけいをして引ひき続つづき開始かいししてます。Now, we've taken a morning break and resumed.

とウルトラセブンではジャガイモを掘ほり上あげる位置いちが違ちがうので、and the Ultra Sevens dig up the potatoes in different positions, so

畝うねを区切くぎってそれぞれ別べつの区画くかくに分わかれて収穫しゅうかくを進すすめていきます。we divide the rows and proceed with harvesting in separate sections.

こうすることでお互たがいの作業さぎょうが重かさならず、3台だい同時どうじに効率こうりつよく収穫しゅうかくを進すすめることができます。This way our work doesn't overlap, and all three machines can harvest efficiently at the same time.

一いち往復おうふくでコンテナに空あけずそのまま収穫しゅうかくしてみたらメインタンクがいっぱいになってしまいました。I tried harvesting a full round trip without emptying into containers, and the main tank got full.

で、ここ終おわったら次つぎはお友達ともだちの農場のうじょうに移動いどうするので、ちょうどね、今いまね、お昼ひるになるところなのでお昼ひる休憩きゅうけいしてからですかね、移動いどう。And when we're done here, we'll move to our friend's farm, and it's just about noon now, so we'll move after taking a lunch break.

今年ことしは8ヘクタールほどあって結構けっこう量りょうが多おおかったんですけど、やっぱり3台だいになったことでめちゃくちゃ早はやいです。This year we had about 8 hectares, which was quite a lot, but with 3 machines it's incredibly fast.

はい、ということでお友達ともだちの畑はたけも無事ぶじに収穫しゅうかくが終おわりました。Yes, and so our friend's field has also been harvested successfully.

3台だい並ならんで収穫しゅうかくを行おこないました。We harvested with 3 machines lined up.

これまでは1台いちだいで収穫しゅうかくを行おこなっていたので、ジャガイモを掘ほり終おわるまでかなり期間きかんがかかっていました。Until now we harvested with one machine, so it took quite a long time to finish digging the potatoes.

今年ことしからはお友達ともだちと協力きょうりょくして3台だいで収穫しゅうかくすることで、Starting this year, by cooperating with our friend and harvesting with 3 machines,

収穫しゅうかくする面積めんせき自体じたいは増ふえましたが、期間きかんはかなり短縮たんしゅくすることができました。the area to harvest itself has increased, but we were able to shorten the period considerably.

さらにトップ1が仲間入なかまいりしたことで、今後こんごはカボチャとの収穫しゅうかく時期じきを調整ちょうせいしたり、Furthermore, with the Top 1 joining us, we can now adjust the harvest timing with pumpkins,

違ちがうジャガイモの品種ひんしゅに挑戦ちょうせんしたりと作付さくづけの選択肢せんたくしも広ひろげられそうです。and try different potato varieties, so our planting options seem to have expanded.

収穫しゅうかくを早はやく終おわらせれるようになったことで、単純たんじゅんに作業さぎょうが楽らくになっただけではなく、Being able to finish the harvest earlier has not just simply made the work easier,
