So, what if a foreigner came up to you and said they want to be friends?

Well, we did study abroad and stuff.

So how should someone talk to you so you could naturally become friends with a Japanese person?
Hmm, I wonder.
But it would start with something like 'hey,' right.
What would it be.
Like 'hey.'
Saying 'hey.'
I see.
But then, after all, it'd be better if the foreigner could speak Japanese too.
That's right.
If they could at least say 'hello' or 'hi,' we'd be like 'oh' — just simple words.
Just simple words, right.
So after 'hello,' then what.
I wonder.

Right, I'd like to chit-chat, but there's probably a language barrier.
I wonder.
Like if they asked about delicious food.
Well, talking about food.
Well, asking about places — but can you become friends from that?
That's difficult, isn't it.
Yeah, it is.
Difficult.
You need a certain amount of time, though.
Then if you could go for drinks from there, wouldn't that change things?
If we went drinking together.
We're drinking alcohol right now, after all.
You like alcohol, huh.

はい。Yes.
Well, but being too proactively
話しかけられすぎると怖いと思う人もいるので、talked to too much scares some people, so
うんでもそのこんにちはとか道を聞いたりその小さい会話をしたりとかするのはみんなyeah, but just saying hello or asking for directions or having those small conversations is fine with everyone
it seems.
Yeah, so, yes, Japanese people are shy but maybe not shy.
Yes, if you go to Japan more, especially if you go to Japan alone, proactively talk to various Japanese people and I hope you can make friends, everyone.
